Account & Data Deletion Guide
This page explains how to delete your Chapta account and associated data, what information is removed, and our data retention policies.
How to Delete Your Account
Option 1: Delete Through the App (Recommended)
- Open the Chapta app
- Go to Settings (bottom navigation)
- Scroll to “Account” section
- Tap “Delete Account”
- Enter your password to confirm
- Confirm final deletion
Option 2: Email Request
Send an email to chapta.app@gmail.com with:
- Subject line: “Account Deletion Request”
- Your email address associated with Chapta
- Request to delete your account
Data Deletion Details
Data That Will Be Permanently Deleted:
- Profile information and preferences
- CV and professional documents
- Job search history
- Saved jobs and applications
- Chat history with AI assistant
- Account credentials
- Device tokens and login history
Data That Is Retained:
- Anonymized usage statistics
- Aggregate analytics data
- Basic transaction records (if any) for legal compliance
Retention Period:
- Account deletion processes within 7 days
- Backup data removed within 30 days
- Legal compliance data kept for required duration (6 years)
Before Deletion:
- Download or save any important information
- Complete any pending job applications
- Cancel any active subscriptions
After Deletion:
- You cannot reactivate your account
- All automated job alerts will stop
- Access to previously saved jobs will be lost
